Senior English
I graduated from Sierra High School in Whittier, California. My A.A. is in Political Science, and it is from Rio Hondo College in Whittier, California. My B.A. is from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Durant, Oklahoma, in Secondary English Education. My M.Ed. is also in Secondary English Education from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma. .
I have been at Madill High School for three years, although I have been in the district for 18 years. I taught 6th, 7th, 8th grade Laguage Arts, Reading, and Speech while at the middle school. I am currently teaching English IV, AP-English III, and Creative Writing. I have taught pre-AP English I, English III, AP-English IV, and ACT Prep.
I have also taught in Durant, high school and middle school English/Language Arts, and I have taught 0 level courses in Reading and English at Southeastern Oklahoma State University..
I am married to my husband, Danny, and we have two daughters. Our oldest daughter, Lindsay, is married and living in Egypt! She is teaching music at an international school. Although Lindsay doesn’t have children, yet, she does have my granddog, Fergie, who is loved and spoiled! Our youngest daughter, Catie, graduated from Madill High School in 2018. Catie is working full-time, and she has recently moved out on her own. She had her roommate have a 30 pound cat named Willie – he loves ham!
Although, I am from the Los Angeles, California, area – I grew up in Whittier, California, and I went to high school and college there – I have lived in Oklahoma for 19 years, and I consider it my home.
We have six dogs – five of them are rescued dogs. We have two pugs, Scarlett and Bonnie, a Chihuahua, Lupita Consuelo Pfaff de Lopez, a basset hound, Molly, a mixed-breed named Shelby, and a mixed-bree named Jessie.
My hobbies are reading, traveling, swimming, going out on the lake in our boat, and spending time with my family, friends , and pets. I love visiting new places --especially book stores and museums!
